Andreas Pereira has been putting in the hard yards during off-season as he prepares to launch another assault on the Manchester United first team over the summer.
The midfielder, having spent a successful 2016/17 campaign at Granada, decided to spend last season on loan in La Liga as well, joining Valencia on a season long loan.
He enjoyed another positive nine months, albeit occasionally blighted by injury, playing out wide as Valencia finished fourth in the table.
But with his focus now firmly on breaching Jose Mourinho’s squad, Pereira has demonstrated his relentless attitude to his manager on social media.
Pereira has been in this situation before. This will be his fifth pre-season with the United squad – ventures which have given him minutes on the pitch but never the platform to properly go on and make a mark at Old Trafford.
You doubt he will go on a sixth should this next one not yield a place in Mourinho’s squad. He has proven himself for two different La Liga teams and will want to be playing on a weekly basis next term. And it is up to him in these next couple of months whether that will be at United or, once again, further abroad.
