Manchester United star Jesse Lingard has offered a rallying call to his England teammates, claiming to fans that they will be 100% ready for Belgium.
The two nations will face off against each other in their final World Cup group stage game to see who will top the group having already qualified for the next round.
The Three Lions comfortably saw off Tunisia and Panama in their first two matches, getting all six points in an exciting start to their campaign.
Supporters weren’t expecting too much this time around after previous terrible experiences but it appears this young England side that Lingard is a part of may finally live up to the bill.
Their first real test will come up against their European counterparts and should they win, there’s no knowing just how far they can go.
According to Sky Sports, Jesse said: “For us, obviously we want to win the game – that’s the important thing. We’ve got to prepare right this week. Come game time, we’ll be 100 per cent ready.
“With the team that we have got, it is exciting and it’s young. We don’t know how far we can go and I think that is the expectation of the fans. They are watching and wondering. They are enjoying watching us play and do our bit on the pitch.”
Jesse has been a part of the England set-up all season long, largely in part due to his performances for United but it’s also because he has a manager that trusts in him in Gareth Southgate.
Hopefully the versatile attacker can continue going from strength to strength, proving even the most stubborn of doubters of his quality that club fans know he has.
