Ethan Hamilton: I’m delighted to be extending my journey here

Manchester United youngster Ethan Hamilton has announced he’s delighted to be remaining at Old Trafford after extending his contract with the club.

Head of youth coaching Nicky Butt is perhaps the man responsible for the negotiations as the club continue to step up their efforts to revamp the academy.

United have tied down a host of their talented youngsters in a bid to secure their future and have done well in the transfer market too in improving the youth squads.

Butt has employed a strategy that involves building around local talent whilst also raiding the transfer market for foreign stars of the future.

With his new contract sign, Hamilton can now feel as though he can push on now and attempt to make a claim for first team action under Jose Mourinho.

According to Manchester Evening News, Ethan said to the club’s official website: “Manchester United has always been my club so I’m delighted to be staying and extending my journey here.

“I know it’s a cliché but I just need to really knuckle down and train hard. You never know who is watching any training session, so my motto is show people what you can do and try to impress the coaches and manager every day.

“United is renowned for giving young players a chance to play in the first team if you are good enough, no matter what your age, and that’s my dream.”

Mourinho’s current midfielders are Marouane Fellaini, Ander Herrera, Fred, Nemanja Matic, Paul Pogba along with youngsters Timothy Fosu-Mensah, Andreas Pereira and Scott McTominay.

It’s widely expected that the Portuguese manager will employ a 4-3-3 formation for the next season with the arrival of the Brazilian star.

United mostly played in a 4-2-3-1 last year and the new formation will meant he additional midfielders aforementioned will provide plenty of cover.
