Manchester United have reportedly made a bit of a breakthrough in negotiations over a possible transfer for Real Madrid star Gareth Bale.
This transfer saga is one that never seems to be fully over despite many believing once Cristiano Ronaldo was sold to Juventus, there was no way the Welshman would be allowed to leave too.
Bale was once considered to be the potential heir to the Portuguese man’s position at Madrid but it’s fair to say that hasn’t quite worked out.
The former Tottenham star has had his moments in the Spanish capital but has often received mixed feelings from supporters and hasn’t gotten his due credit.
United appeared at one point to be close to signing Gareth but it appeared to be all over until new reports emerged that talks have reached an advanced stage.
There’s the skeptic’s view on the current situation which is with the departure of Ronaldo, Bale is attempting to understand his role under his new manager.
If he can be reassured he will be an important figure for Real next season and potentially given a new contract, there’s no doubt he will stay.
However, if he’s not given any promises then there could very well be a likelihood of him transferring to United after all.
