Video: Matteo Darmian’s agent in Turin as Juventus move draws closer

Matteo Darmian‘s agent, Tullio Tinti, has arrived in Italy to finalise a deal to bring the full-back to Juventus this summer.

The 28-year-old only managed 12 starts in nine months under Jose Mourinho last season and has been expected to move back to his homeland for some time.

He noted earlier this summer that he was open to joining Juventus, emphasising a desire to play regularly once again.

And his agent, Tinti, has been spotted in Turin as a deal to bring Darmian to Serie A draws closer.

Manchester United are open to selling Darmian this summer but will not do so for pennies. They are demanding a fee of around €20m – more than what they paid for him in 2015 – but Juventus, who have already signed right-back Joao Cancelo, are only willing to stretch as high as €12-13m.

A compromise will have to be reached, then. Failing that, a sticky impasse will envelop between the two parties, sending the entire move down the toilet.

Perhaps the introduction of Alex Sandro’s name into the deal could move things along. The Brazilian’s future in Turin remains uncertain and United, who desperately need a left-back, could use his current predicament to their advantage, killing two birds with one stone by securing his signature and sending Darmain in the other direction.
