Jurgen Klinsmann believes Manchester United star Paul Pogba deserves all the praise he’s received following his win with France in the World Cup final.
Now officially a World Cup winner it’s fair to say the midfielder’s stock has risen a few notches and he silenced his critics with a man of the match display.
France managed to win 4-2 against Croatia with Pogba getting on the scoresheet himself and though he’ll rightly get praise for this performance, he’s been consistent throughout the tournament.
The former Juventus man practically led his side to international football’s most prestigious trophy by himself and was outstanding on the biggest stage of them all.
Klinsmann, a World Cup winner himself, was full of praise for Paul as well and believes the Frenchman made the game his own in the second half.
At half time things weren’t quite wrapped up for France as the eventual 4-2 scoreline suggests with Croatia still in the tie at 2-1.
However, a goal from Pogba made it 3-1 and gave his side the confidence to truly dominate the game with ease as until that point, the Balkan nation were fighting for a result.
There’s certainly truth to Jurgen’s words and the United man did improve after the break to truly make it a memorable final performance.
