Leicester City to keep Manchester United at arm’s length over Harry Maguire: report

by Marwan Harraz

Leicester City are reportedly going to keep Manchester United at arm’s length over their interest in Harry Maguire by offering him a new contract.

The latest reports claim Jose Mourinho has already made enquiries over the Englishman following his solid performances during the World Cup.

The Portuguese manager has had a watchful eye over the whole tournament since he’s been working as a pundit for tv channel Russia Today.

Maguire had already been garnering interest during the Premier League season but following the Three Lions’ unexpected run to the semi-finals of the competition, interest has heated up.

United are said to have ended their desire to sign Tottenham’s Toby Alderweireld as they see the Leicester star as the ideal signing instead.

Jose could probably offer Harry more than £80k easily but whether or not the reports are true remains to be seen particularly since the club have been linked with every centre-back on the planet.

It’s understood the type of player the former Real Madrid manager is looking for is an experienced, proven defender which the former Hull man is neither.

Maguire hasn’t proven himself at the top level just yet and at the age of 25 is hardly an experienced central defender though Mourinho has pulled off surprises during transfer windows before.
