Manchester United’s latest signing Lee Grant has addressed supporters for the first time in a video at the UCLA Campus in Los Angeles.
The former Stoke City keeper, who impressed during a 1-1 draw at Old Trafford in 2016, joined the club earlier this month for a fee of £1.5m.
His arrival will pave the way for Joel Pereira, the club’s third choice last season, to head out on loan.
Grant spoke to supporters directly for the first time in a video on the way to training at the UCLA on Monday.
Welcome to #MUTOUR, Lee Grant!

Grant, above anything, seems like a good lad. A good honest lad. There isn’t any hint of duplicity or conceit there. I feel like I could open up to Lee Grant, breaking down about all kinds of things, and he would just sit there with a slight sympathetic look, just nodding and going, “yeah yeah, no, I understand, mate, it’s alright”. I can really picture that.
Lee Grant would happily give you a lift from the bus stop back into town. He would definitely lend you his hedge trimmers if you asked. Lee Grant would happily assist you with putting together some furniture. I bet you Lee Grant does an excellent BBQ: all the dips, Richmond sausages, corn on the cob – the lot.
It is unlikely we will see Grant do any actual goalkeeping – aside from pre-season, that is – at Man United. So what I really want to know is this: is he a good guy? Will he be a positive influence in the dressing room? The answer to that is yes. Absolutely yes.
