Manchester United star Fred’s absence from the Brazilian starting XI in the World Cup has started to not make any sense after the national team physio claimed he was fit.
It was understood the midfielder didn’t make an appearance due to the injury he picked up just before the tournament stared and so despite fans being disappointed, they understood the reason.
The national team manager Tite had stated that the former Shakhtar Donetsk man’s knock was what prevented Fred from featuring but his own staff have contradicted him.
The physio actually claims the United man was actually fit from the second group stage game onwards with Brazil having gone all the way to the quarter finals.
Supporters who were eager to see their new signing were let down for no real reason apparently and it makes the whole situation rather bizarre.
According to Manchester Evening News, the physio said to ESPN Brazil: “Fred recovered and improved – he was released so his athletic and clinical conditions were perfect.
“I believe that at the start of the World Cup there, in the second game against Costa Rica, and in the third game, he was in a condition of full competitiveness.”
Fans won’t know who to believe but it’s all becoming rather unprofessional and a little embarrassing for Tite and Brazil.
Fred perhaps could’ve provide his nation with something they were missing in order to help them go a step further than just the quarter-finals.
Either way, there’s no way of telling now and Jose Mourinho will just be happy to know his star signing didn’t pick up another injury.
