Report: PSV Eindhoven determined to keep Hirving Lozano amid Manchester United links

PSV Eindhoven are reluctant to losing their prize asset Hirving Lozano eventually, but are determined to keep hold of him for one more year at least amid links to European giants including Manchester United, according to reports.

The winger enjoyed a terrific 2017-18 season, scoring 17 goals and assisting 11 in 29 Dutch Eredivisie matches for PSV as the club sealed a stunning title win.

Lozano continued his fine form into the 2018 World Cup in Russia, netting the winner in Mexico’s 1-0 win over flops Germany and featuring in all four of the nation’s fixtures.

Dutch daily newspaper, The Eindhovens Dagblad, report that PSV are ready to fend off tempting interest in order to keep the 22-year-old for one more year, even though they know he’ll be moving onto a new challenge sooner rather than later.

Man United are joined by city rivals Manchester City, who were close to bringing him to the Etihad Stadium last summer before the move fell through, in being interested in the star’s services ahead of the 2018-19 campaign.

‘Chucky’ impressed at Pachucha before opting for PSV over Man City last year and has a contract at the Dutch champions until 2023, but it’s highly likely he’ll depart before then if he continues to light up the pitch for club and country.
