Martial’s agent came out earlier in the summer and announced that he wanted to depart Man United due to his game time under Jose Mourinho following the January arrival of Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez.
The representative, Philippe Lamboley, admitted that Martial would have left Old Trafford earlier if it wasn’t for the excellent support from the club’s fan base.
Sky Sports News claim that United’s Premier League rivals Chelsea along with Bundesliga duo Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund are all keen to recruit the young France international before the transfer window slams shut.
They also state that Martial has asked Mourinho to let him leave, however, United executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward has no interest in selling him which could lead to the club triggering a one-year extension in his contract until 2020.
It is being said that Chelsea haven’t yet made a formal offer for the 22-year-old’s services but one could very well be sent further down the line.
Meanwhile, Bayern and Dortmund won’t be approaching the player if United’s £90m valuation isn’t lowered.
With regular forwards Romelu Lukaku and Jesse Lingard missing during pre-season and the subsequently the start of the 2018-19 campaign, Martial is set to be used frequently in the opening stages alongside Juan Mata and Alexis Sanchez.
At the moment, it looks more likely that he’ll stay put for this summer rather than making a poorly-received exit and he’s certainly looked in high spirits so far.
