Alexis Sanchez a standout player in Manchester United’s 0-0 draw with San Jose Earthquakes

Alexis Sanchez was a standout player in Santa Clara, California as Manchester United played out their second stalemate in two outings on the pre-season tour of America.

Man United drew 0-0 with San Jose Earthquakes at the Levi’s Stadium in what was a fairly uneventful affair, with United’s best chance coming in the opening stages when Eric Bailly fluffed his lines from close range following a free-kick, hitting the crossbar.

In the early hours of Friday morning, The University of Phoenix Stadium saw a 1-1 draw against Club America in the pre-season opener, with Man of the Match Juan Mata scoring with 10 minutes to go to prevent defeat.

One player wasn’t present for that game was January signing Alexis Sanchez, who didn’t fly out to the USA with the squad last Sunday due to issues with his visa, but he linked up with his teammates on Saturday and started against San Jose.

In a game with little attacking threat from both sides, Alexis was certainly one of the larger sparks as he lined up on the left side of the front three alongside Anthony Martial and academy star Tahith Chong.

Andreas Pereira also bossed the match as he continued to adapt well to the ‘no. 6’ role asked of him by Jose Mourinho, while Lee Grant also impressed again after replacing Joel Pereira at half-time.
