The two youngsters are in different stages of their careers but are in the same boat in terms of needing more minutes to develop and fighting for a spot in the starting XI.
Since the pair can play on the left wing and as strikers, they’ve seen their positions taken up by more experienced or proven players in Alexis Sanchez and Romelu Lukaku.
This has led for some sections of the media claiming they should both move on for the sake of their careers despite Jose Mourinho reportedly wanting them to stay.
Nonetheless, Berbatov believes the two have a future at the club and can even make it together in the same starting XI contrary to what others believe.
According to Manchester Evening News, Dimitar said: “I think Rashford needs more playing time so he can develop fully because he has great abilities, for me alongside Martial these two can be unbelievable.
“They are young, they enjoy the game and because of their youth they see the game differently to other players. Some people say they cannot play at the same time but I disagree.
“They don’t over-think things, they just go and play and enjoy the game as much as they can – they are quick, strong, have great technical ability and they can score goals.
“So I hope that more time is given to Martial and Rashford which I think will be beneficial to the whole team and to them as well obviously.”
United fans are certainly hoping they’ll see more of Rashford and Martial this upcoming season though the main aim is to win the title by any means necessary.
