It doesn’t look like Paul Pogba will be leaving Manchester United this summer as the overseas transfer deadline quickly approaches, but doesn’t mean interest in his services has been tarnished.
The France international has reportedly been unhappy at Man United for some time due to his strained relationship with manager Jose Mourinho and was seeking a move away throughout the transfer window – or his unfavourable agent Mino Raiola was, anyway.
Pogba is seen as the ‘face of the brand’ and future of the club by the United board, and rightly so, but it still seems like Mourinho would be happy to see him leave for the right price and that could very well happen in the near future.
According to The Telegraph, Barcelona will continue to monitor the 25-year-old’s happiness at Old Trafford, like they did with Philippe Coutinho at Liverpool last year.
The La Liga giants are aware that there’s a minimal chance of Pogba leaving United this summer, now that the English season has already begun and he is already impressing, but are planning to come back with a ‘vastly improved’ offer either in January or in a year’s time.
Whether Pogba will still be wanting to depart at that time remains to be seen, but it’d be a huge blow to see such a special individual’s unhappiness force him away.
