Paul Pogba remains keen on Barcelona transfer this month – report

Paul Pogba remains determined to complete a move to Barcelona this month amid growing chaos at Manchester United, according to the Times.

The Frenchman has attracted interest from the La Liga champions ever since the World Cup and was subject to a bid worth £45m plus Yerry Mina and Andre Gomes earlier this month.

His agent Mino Raiola’s recent online outburst at Paul Scholes, who criticised Pogba’s performance at the weekend, has only served to enhance the prospect of a departure from Old Trafford.

And according to the Times‘ Ian Whittell, sources close to Pogba suggest he is set on completing a move to Barcelona in the future.

The Spanish transfer window wraps up in about a week, making any transfer this window extremely unlikely. Barcelona privately accept that United are not willing to part ways with their best outfield player this month but, just like with Philipe Coutinho last season, they are set to keep a very close eye on the situation, and may even pounce in the January transfer window.

Barcelona is a club worth avoiding when it comes to transfers. They had to sit out of two windows because of how they signed Neymar. Atletico Madrid reported them for how they approached Antoine Griezmann. They are, put simply, a slimy bunch of executives, and with Raiola busting a gut to get Pogba out of United, you cannot help but feel like this story isn’t going to disappear.
