Jose Mourinho: All we want is to play well and beat Tottenham Hotspur

<—Article Start—>Jose Mourinho has stated his clear and simple desires from his Manchester United team against Tottenham Hotspur on Monday night.

Tottenham travel to Old Trafford to try and pile more misery on Man United following the shocking 3-2 loss at Brighton & Hove Albion last Sunday afternoon and stretch the gap between Mourinho’s side and the Premier League title front runners.

United could already be six points behind Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester City ahead of the clash with Spurs and Mourinho has pinpointed his aims to keep up with the pack.

Speaking in his pre-match press conference, the United manager explained: “I would like to play well and win. Not make mistakes, play well and win. That’s what we want.”

Mourinho showed defiance towards the British media this week by refusing to answer questions on his players and taking a total of 12 questions in the space of three minutes, giving as brief responses as they come.

Speculation has been mounting over the chances of another ‘third-season syndrome’ meltdown from Mourinho this term and a negative result against Spurs would only spread the fire that is media coverage on his chances of departing Old Trafford.

United will be confident in securing another good result against the London club though.<—Article End—>
