<—Article Start—>Jose Mourinho’s style of football has been widely criticised throughout the whole of his career as a manager but he has insisted he wants his teams to play exactly like the way the fans want.
The amount of negative attention on Mourinho reached the highest it has been in a while after Manchester United put in a laughable performance at Brighton & Hove Albion last Sunday and lost 3-2.
Mourinho is famous for his ‘park the bus’ tactics which makes his style of football a lot less excited than those of managers like Pep Guardiola and Jurgen Klopp, but he has made the way he wants his Man United team to play very clear.
In his brief pre-match press conference ahead of Monday’s clash with Tottenham Hotspur, Mourinho said: “Style we want to play? Winning style. Don’t make defensive mistakes. Be dominant. Chances, score goals and go home with the three points.”
A win for United would launch them back into the Premier League title picture amongst Liverpool and Chelsea, who have won all three of their opening games, and champions Manchester City.
All records point towards a United triumph but the threat Spurs carry can’t be undermined and Mourinho’s men will have to be at their best in order to get a crucial three points.<—Article End—>
