Manchester United star Luke Shaw has responded to claims of a divided dressing room, insisting the club’s in good spirits.
The Englishman was addressing reporters following the disappointing loss to Tottenham at Old Trafford on Monday night.
Shaw was the only United player who performed admirably with pretty much everyone else letting down Jose Mourinho and the fans.
The youngster has started the season in incredible form and the hope is he can remain injury free to continue developing.
The Red Devils 3-0 loss was said to have divided the dressing room even further but he’s denied those claims.
According to the Express, Luke said: “You see a lot of things in the media that go on about what our dressing room is like, but we have a really good spirit, a really good group of lads who want to work and achieve big things here.
“We have a group of hard workers and amazing talents, everywhere you look on the field. We have got to start taking our chances and I am sure we will start winning games.”
Shaw’s good performances of late has seen Ashley Young struggle to regain his left-back spot but it’s still early in the season.
The veteran is unlikely to give up his position without a fight so the former Southampton man will have to keep up the fine displays.
Young has featured in only one of the first three fixtures but it was as a right-back instead of a left-back.
Luke hasn’t given Mourinho a reason to drop him as of yet and his hard work in pre-seaosn is paying off.
The defender could still play for the club for the next decade if he chooses to and must now build on his good form.
