Ed Woodward will never sell Anthony Martial, Luke Shaw, Marcus Rashford and Jesse Lingard at Manchester United – report

Ed Woodward is unwilling to consider selling Anthony Martial, Luke Shaw, Marcus Rashford and Jesse Lingard during his time as vice-chairman at Manchester United, according to reports.

Martial has been tipped for an Old Trafford exit for some time but, as reported by several media outlets, has decided to enter talks with the club over a new five-year deal.

Shaw, whose current deal expires at the end of the season, was reportedly offered a new contract over the summer as well.

And according to the Telegraph‘s James Ducker, Woodward sees Shaw and Martial, along with homegrown duo Rashford and Lingard, as four ‘untouchables’ and will never even consider letting them leave during his time at the club.

Woodward is a man whose expertise lies in business – not football – decisions, but this is a start move for United commercially and on the pitch as well.

Martial is a potential ‘Galactico’ in the eyes of Woodward, while Shaw at his best is an irresistible force. And the idea of letting either Rashford or Lingard leave – given their roots and strong reputation among supporters – is not even worth considering.

Interestingly, however, there is no mention of Paul Pogba, David de Gea or Romelu Lukaku.
