Cristiano Ronaldo was an obsessive at Manchester United, reveals Carlos Tevez

Carlos Tevez has revealed just how hard Cristiano Ronaldo worked at Manchester United to become the best player in the World.

That title has been Ronaldo’s dream for decades, since he was a kid training at Sporting Lisbon away from his family.

And it’s well-known that he put everything into achieving that, particularly at Man United where he was surrounded by fantastic players and could have rested on his laurels, but refused to.

Tevez revealed how Ronaldo was obsessed by the gym at United.

”Cristiano always stopped in the gym after training: for him it is an obsession and, being the best in everything, he always arrived at work early,” Tevez said.

“When the training was set for 9 in the morning I arrived at 8 and he was already there.

“Even if I arrived at 7.30am, he [Ronaldo] was already there. I began to ask myself, ‘How can I get rid of this guy?’

“So one day I arrived at 6 but he was already there! Sleepy, but he was there.”

It shows the effort that Ronaldo put in. Everyone who has worked with him speaks of that hard work and determination to be better than every player who has preceded him.

Tevez, meanwhile, would never be welcomed back at Old Trafford because of how he moved across the city straight from Red to Blue. While at United, though, his trio with Ronaldo and Wayne Rooney was unforgettable.
