Marcus Rashford set to replace Alexis Sanchez against Young Boys – report

Marcus Rashford is in line to replace Alexis Sanchez on the left hand side against Swiss side Young Boys in the Champions League on Wednesday night, according to reports.

The Chilean has only managed three goals in 23 appearances since joining Man United in January and is yet to score this season.

Rashford, meanwhile, scored in consecutive games for England over the international break but is banned for United’s next two domestic fixtures having received a red card against Burnley for violent conduct.

And according to the Mirror‘s Richard Tanner, Mourinho will use the freshness of Rashford against Young Boys as he looks to add more speed to his attack.

Sanchez’s link-up play has gradually improved but he still looks lost in an attacking sense. He is yet to discover his goalscoring nous in a United shirt.

Rashford, on the other hand, will be raring to go after scoring twice for England this month and missing out on the Watford clash. Games like these against Young Boys, who are in unchartered territory, always go better when there is an element of speed and urgency in attack. That will give United control, and perhaps force the Swiss side into making mistakes.

A slow game – like against Sevilla – will only have adverse ramifications for United’s attack whilst simultaneously inviting Young Boys to attack.
