Ray Parlour has backed Alexis Sanchez to come good for Manchester United following his recent poor form.
The Chilean has struggled to impress in the past few matches leaving fans baffled and frustrated.
The confusion stems from how Sanchez seemingly stopped playing well the moment pre-season ended.
Over the summer the former Barcelona man practically carried the United team towards bearable results and Parlour believes he will return to that type of form.
Supporters meanwhile are less convinced, calling on Jose Mourinho to allow Anthony Martial the match-time he deserves to get.
According to the Express, Ray said to talkSPORT: “There is no doubting his ability, he’s unbelievable. I watched him so many times when he played for Arsenal.
“He can turn a game on his own, that’s how good he is, but it’s how you get the best out of him.
“I’m not blaming Jose, but when you look at it, Sanchez and Lukaku can be an unbelievable partnership on paper, but it’s just about getting them performing together.
“I’m sure Man United fans were very excited about signing Sanchez, but it just hasn’t worked out for him, yet.
“There’s still time. He needs to get a little bit of confidence back to his game, and then I’m sure he’ll end up being a great signing for Manchester United.”
What’s worse for Alexis is there’s no real excuse for his poor performances so far this season.
During the last campaign he was excused as fans understood he would need time to adjust to his new surroundings.
There were even supporters who pointed towards his ridiculous amount of games he’s played over the years, claiming all he needs is a rest.
Over the summer Sanchez got the necessary time off and even had time to adapt after joining the club for his first pre-season.
However, despite everything seemingly working in his favour and all the signs pointing towards him having an outstanding campaign, the winger has done nothing but disappoint so far.
