Romelu Lukaku: Games like Juventus fixture is why I signed for Manchester United

Romelu Lukaku has revealed his excitement for Tuesday night’s game between Manchester United and Juventus.

The Belgian forward admitted that games like these are why he joined Man United from fellow Premier League side Everton in 2017.

Lukaku signed for the Reds for around £75 million and has netted 31 goals since. He made his debut for United in the UEFA Champions League last season, but the Reds were unsuccessful in the competition, being knocked out by La Liga side Sevilla in a woeful performance.

During their run to the knockout rounds, United didn’t really face a ‘huge’ side like Juventus.

“It’s why I signed for this club,” Lukaku explained to MUTV.

“I want to play in a magnificent stadium in front of these fans. I dreamed of it as a kid and now is my opportunity.

“It’s a good challenge to see where I’m at and also where the team is – how we perform against the top defence in Europe right now.”

It will be a fantastic atmosphere at Old Trafford in midweek, especially with the return of former-player Cristiano Ronaldo.

The last time Ronaldo came back to Manchester was in 2013 with Real Madrid. The noise levels on that night were astonishing and it made for an amazing occasion.
