Manchester United fans were thoroughly frustrated with Ashley Young after his performance vs Barcelona in the quarter-finals of the Champions League.
The Englishman has declined remarkably this season though he was never truly in the supporters’ good books.
Young was once considered a decent option at full-back but having made two errors across the two legs, fans have gotten sick of him.
With Diogo Dalot the alternative at right-back, some supporters are baffled why the veteran is still being selected.
There have even been some calls for Matteo Darmian to return to the line-up, such has been Ashley’s form.
Ashley Young: “I never make the same mistake twice. I make it five or six times just to be sure”

Ashley Young, and I say this with a genuinely heavy heart, get the fuck out of my football team. Gary Neville knew when to retire, stop hurting Man United by continuing to play.

Young’s current deal doesn’t run out until next year which means it’s unlikely he will leave this summer.
The former Watford man’s wages mean no other club would truly be keen on signing him.
Ashley wasn’t the only one to make an error against Barcelona tonight but his recent form has meant he’s gotten the brunt of the stick.
David de Gea was also at fault but fans know his usual top performances bails him out a little, particularly since he still pulled off a ridiculous save in the same match.
Either way, it’ll be interesting to see whether Ole Gunnar Solskjaer sticks with Young even after such a performance.
