Kalidou Koulibaly admits to uncertainty over future amidst Manchester United interest

Napoli star Kalidou Koulibaly has broken his silence on his future, admitting there’s uncertainty with the likes of Manchester United creeping around.

The Senegalese has quickly emerged as one of the most sought after players in Europe due to his performances at the back for club and country.

The centre-back has proven himself to be a world class defender and so essentially has a target on his back for those who want to shore up their backline.

Koulibaly has been a target of United’s for quite some time now but a move never materialised due to the finances involved with Napoli asking for a hefty sum.

The 28 year old was also said to be happen in Italy and so a move never seemed possible, until now.

According to the Mirror, Kalidou said: “I don’t know [if I’ll still be at Napoli next year], I think so. But I have to play the Afcon and then after that I’ll go back to Napoli.

“Everyone’s speaking about me, but I’m only speaking about Senegal, because that’s my objective today and I want to achieve something big with Senegal.”

It’s not exactly a ‘come and get me’ plea but given how Koulibaly used to speak about his future, it is quite telling.

Manchester United are believed to have moved away from a ‘Galactico’ type transfer policy to a more youthful one as they look to develop their own stars.

However, even Ole Gunnar Solskjaer may be too tempted to avoid throwing everything at signing Kalidou as he would vastly improve an incredibly leaky defence.
