Manchester United have breakthrough in chase for Harry Maguire

by Marwan Harraz

Manchester United have reportedly finally agreed terms with Leicester City to complete a deal for Harry Maguire.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been chasing the talented Englishman’s signature all summer long and it appears there’s been an encouraging breakthrough.

United have desperately needed to improve upon an error-riddled defence and it seems they’ve turned to the towering centre-back to resolve their problems in the back.

Maguire was said to be keen on the transfer happening but Leicester’s stubbornness in negotiations risked the deal from completing.

The Red Devils and the Foxes were apart in terms of their evaluation of the 26 year old but now that’s no longer the case, it shouldn’t be long until he’s officially announced.

The £80m price-tag is likely to split fan opinion as it is a lot of money for someone who has arguably not been tested at the highest level yet.

Some fans feel the money spent is far too much for a player like Harry and that better options exist in the market.

Others are adamant the former Hull man is the player to resolve Manchester United’s defensive woes for good and that the price-tag shouldn’t stop the club from signing him.

Either way, it appears executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward has finally caved to Leicester’s demands and given the green light to splash the cash on Maguire.
