Manchester United fans were clearly pleased with Scott McTominay‘s performance following a nervy 1-0 win over Leicester City.
Marcus Rashford converted from the penalty spot with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men forced to hold onto the narrow lead for a large chunk of the match.
McTominay was absolutely crucial in the way his side held their nerve as he covered every blade of grass on the pitch.
Not only was the young Scotsman as tenacious as he always was but in Paul Pogba’s absence he took the responsibility to move the ball forward well too, outshining his more experienced partner Nemanja Matic.
Hopefully the sensational Frenchman will return from injury soon but McTominay has proven he can somewhat handle the workload.
McTominay truly truly has outplayed every Leicester midfielder today. All of them. And by a long mile. Pure dominance today.#mufc

Maguire-Lindelof were outstanding that game. AWB faultless again. McTominay was MOTM for me, the work rate all game was superb and managed to compensate for Matic’s mediocrity all on his own. #mufc

Solskjaer had predicted this season would be McTominay’s breakthrough season so hopefully he can keep up his performances.
In pre-season the academy product was absolutely brilliant and so he deserved to start ahead of the likes of Matic and Fred.
There’s hope the mobile Brazilian can also step up so that United’s midfield could actually compete with the best in the league.
Should that not happen, one would expect Solskjaer to invest in the engine room first before addressing other weaknesses.
