Manchester United will reportedly rival Arsenal over the signature of Juventus forward Merih Demiral in January, according to reports from Italy.
The 21-year-old only moved to Juventus last summer following an impressive spell on loan at I Neroverdi in the second half of the 2018-19 season.
However, Demiral is weighing up his future after only managing one start under new Juventus boss Maurizio Sarri this season.
According to Tuttosport, United and Arsenal, as well as AC Milan, are monitoring the player’s situation ahead of the January transfer window.
Juventus are open to selling Demiral if the right offer comes along in the upcoming transfer period.
United launched an approach for the player over the summer transfer window, although the signing of Harry Maguire – along with the impressive performances of Axel Tuanzebe – appear to have rendered the central defence position less important than, say, signing a striker or midfielder.
The latter absolutely has to be United’s priority in January. Nothing else.
