Manchester United fans gushing over Marcus Rashford’s performance vs. Tottenham Hotspur

Marcus Rashford once again grabbed a big game by the scruff of its neck during Manchester United’s 2-1 win over Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham Hotspur on Wednesday night.

The 22-year-old was a ferociously aggressive influence down the flank all evening, setting the tone with a rasping shot that beat Paulo Gazzaniga at his near post following a clever dart into the box.

After the break, Rashford won and then expertly tucked away a penalty to hand United – and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer – a crucial three points.

Supporters were quick to heap praise on the Englishman for a ruthless display.

Rashford has now scored braces against Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and Spurs, adding to the already well accepted notion that this guy is a big game player – somebody who can bend occasions like these to his will.

There was something of the 18-year-old in Rashford tonight. The way he seemed to glide forward, as if part of some high-speed rail network, was so intractably fast that Spurs players were just blurry pixels in comparison.

The forward now has 13 goal involvements in the Premier League this season, for a team that just managed its fifth win from 15 games. Only Tammy Abraham and Jamie Vardy have more. It is time we put some serious respect on Rashford’s name.
