Bruno Fernandes’ amazing performance transforms Man United vs West Ham

by Red Billy

A dour first half performance from Manchester United this evening gave way to a scintillating second which saw them overcome a 1-0 deficit to triumph 3-1 over David Moyes’ West Ham.

The half-time introduction of Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford transformed the match and the statistics regarding the former are simply sensational.

In just 45 minutes, the Portuguese playmaker created eight chances for the Red Devils, which is more than any other player for any team has created in a single game this season.

The impact that the 26-year-old has had on United since he arrived at the end of last January’s transfer window has been spectacular.

The Red Devils have gained more Premier League points than any other side since his arrival.

In fact, every one of the 51 Premier League points the side has won in 2020 have come since his arrival from Sporting Lisbon.

It would not be fair to brand United as a one-man team but the importance that Fernandes has to the side – and indeed to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s continued tenure of the manager’s post – is indisputable.

Edinson Cavani has made quite an impact since his deadline day arrival at Old Trafford, but how much do you know about our other South American players, past and present? Take our quiz below to find out!
