Figures show Bruno Fernandes is the best Premier League chance creator

New statistics published today show that Manchester United have the most creative player in the Premier League.

Football number cruncher Statman Dave has tweeted figures concerning the most chances created and the most chances created in open play, and both lists were topped by the same man – Bruno Fernandes.

The Portuguese playmaker has created an incredible 37 chances so far this season from just 11 Premier League games – an average of 3.36 chances per game.

In second place is Manchester City’s Kevin de Bruyne, with 31 chances from 10 games – an average of 3.1 per game.

Aston Villa’s Jack Grealish is in third, with 29 from 10 games.

Even more impressive is that Fernandes still heads the field when considering chances created from open play only. In this category he has created 29 chances, ahead of Grealish on 25 and De Bruyne on 24.

The figures make a mockery of accusations, mainly from rival fans, that Fernandes is merely a glorified penalty taker.

Of course, Fernandes is also way ahead of the likes of De Bruyne and Grealish in terms of Premier League goals scored.

The Portuguese international has 7 goals and 4 assists to his name. Only Spurs’ Son Heung-Min (10 and 4) and Liverpool’s Mo Salah (10 and 2) have more from a non-striker position.

Edinson Cavani has made quite an impact since his deadline day arrival at Old Trafford, but how much do you know about our other South American players, past and present? Take our quiz below to find out!
