Man United target Yves Bissouma and Ben White

Manchester United could be set for a double swoop on Brighton and Hove Albion as two of the Seagulls’ stars are placed high on their January shopping list.

The centre back and defensive midfield positions are believed to be among the Red Devils’ priorities in the transfer market and the south coast side have candidates that fit both positions.

Battling midfielder Yves Bissouma has attracted interest from a number of clubs, including Liverpool, and United are reported by The Express to have joined the fight for his signature.

The 24-year-old took time to settle at the Amex after his 2018 move from Lille but has excelled this season and could be the natural successor to Nemanja Matic that United have sought.

Centre-back Ben White is also wanted by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as the Norwegian aims to bolster his options in the heart of the defence.

White was a standout performer in the Championship last term while on loan at Leeds and has continued to impress back at the Amex this season, fuelling speculation that one of the big clubs will make a move for him. Liverpool, again, could rival United for his signature as they look for backup due to Virgil van Dijk’s long-term injury.
Seagulls’ boss Graham Potter has admitted there is interest in his defender, saying ‘He is a level headed guy who wants to play football and of course he wants to do it at the highest level, just like you want all those players to have those ambitions.
‘He gets on with his work and he was totally professional in the summer despite the noise from outside the club, which you can’t control.
‘He knows that, he’s a smart guy and we will carry on with our work and help him to enjoy his football, which is the most important thing.’
