Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has responded to comments on the club’s capability to put together a title challenge after recent form.
The legendary Norwegian has overseen such a crazy season that his own job was on the line not long ago at all, particularly after a huge loss vs Tottenham and crashing out of the Champions League.
Both those things happened on separate occasions and proves the madness of the campaign so far as Solskjaer looks to keep his team climbing up the table.
Should United win their game in hand then they will be just two points off the top of the table in their fierce rivals Liverpool.
Recent form has seen some fans get carried away and claim a challenge for the title may be on the cards, even if it is unsuccessful.
Solskjær on title challenger talk: "There is noise around #mufc anyway. For us, it’s about improving as team, take it game by game – we have to. That’s the name of the game, that’s the only way you’re going to challenge for anything at the end of the season anyway." #mulive [mu]

Solskjaer has to balance out not getting carried away with the media while simultaneously trying to lay down the marker to his players.
Winning the league may be out of reach but nothing is impossible in this unpredictable season and a title challenge is what fans initially set out for this year.
After qualifying for the Champions League last season, the natural progression would be a title challenge, followed by winning the title in the next season.
Early season form saw fans adjust their expectations but now they’ve risen once more and Solskjaer and co have to manage that new pressure.
