New Manchester United signing Amad Diallo has gotten high praise from Atalanta captain Papu Gomez and it’s sure to get fans hyped up.
The Ivorian prospect has officially completed his transfer to Old Trafford and will be raring to go as soon as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer hands him his debut.
It’s believed Diallo turned down the opportunity to remain in Atalanta on a loan deal to develop further before moving to United.
Solskjaer himself wanted the young winger immediately and refused to accept the loan offer from the Italian side.
Fans have been trying to lower their expectations of Diallo but it’s safe to say his former teammate didn’t do anything to help with that.
According to the club’s official website, Gomez said: “There are defenders in the first team that sometimes cannot stop him. To stop him in training, we have to kick him! He plays like Messi.”
It’s understood Diallo will be with the first-team right away and won’t drop into the U23s as Facundo Pellistri did.
The young Uruguayan was never upset with that happening as he was told that would be the case once he joined.
However, it baffled fans as he was announced as though he were a first-team signing, thrown in on deadline day amongst the likes of Edinson Cavani and Alex Telles.
Nonetheless, Diallo’s arrival is well-timed as he should help address one of the weakest positions in the United team.
